The i-LAB Hand-held spectrometer was developed to give users the flexibility to test liquids and solids when and where they want.

The i-LAB uses light emissions from LEDs, controlled to form a uniform white light.  The light waves pass through a liquid sample and reflect back, or reflect directly back from a solid sample. A spectrum is recorded and automatically saved. The spectrum data can then be calculated into other meaningful information, such as L*, a*, b*, and delta E; RGB data, concentration using a previous Beer's Law calculation.

Food processing companies use an i-LAB® visual spectrometer in their QC program to monitor their products.  Customizable statistical process control (SPC) may be developed and incorporated into the i-LAB instrument to report a PASS/FAIL, value(s) (such as L*, a*, b*, delta E, whiteness, yellowness, etc.), and customizable readings- e.g., at defined wavelength(s).  Microptix also offers BOTH a solid and a liquid adapter for color measurements using the Visible i-LAB spectrometer, so that the user may measure the colorant concentration and also the color of the solid food color.

Solid Suface Reader

The i-LAB Surface Reader Adaptor allows users to make solid surface color (Reflectance) measurements with the i-LAB Visible Hand Held Anlayzing Spectrometer.

Cuvette Adaptor

The i-LAB iADLC1 Cuvette Adaptor enables the i-LAB Hand Held Spectrometer to conduct liquid measurements with Industry Standard 10 mm Square Cuvettes.

Round Vial Adaptor

The i-LAB iADLR1 Round Vial Adaptor enables the i-LAB Hand Held Spectrometer to conduct liquid measurements with 25 mm Round Glass Vials.

Samplette Adptor

The i-LAB uses reusable/disposable sample measurment cells called Samplette's. Samplette's can be used up to ten times before disposing of them. The sample is introduced into the Samplette by dipping the tip into the liquid sample and depressing the plunger until the sample chamber is filled.  7 ml of sample is required to completely fill the sample chamber.
